We took an international train to Marseille in France, and it was quite a shock, because it almost totally did not conform to the image of France that we imagined it to be. In general, the place was quite dirty, and there are only about 50 percent French people. The rest are immigrants from Turkey, Morocco, Senegal, Algeria, Egypt, Tunisia and Nigeria. France used to colonise many of these countries, so there's a big North African-Middle Eastern connection.
