Our first European breakfast at Bagel Bakery, a very good Rotterdammer cafe. The bagels (kinda like donut-shaped bread) were great. The weather was also great, and there was a bit of an initial culture "surprise" because of the leisurely pace of European life - people walk slowly, say hi, chat for long, and bring their dogs out for walks. In short-the art of living well. Singaporeans should learn from them: we shouldn't cut our efficiency, but we can certainly afford to enjoy doing normal things without being too functionalist about everyday things.
